Paul Gilmartin is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Indiana University at Bloomington, with a B.A. in Theatre and Drama. Before becoming a stand-up comedian, he appeared in numerous plays in the Chicago theatre scene, and studied at the famed Second City Theatre.
He has been nominated for a CableAce award for his work as co-host of "Dinner and a Movie", which is in its 5th season and can be seen every Friday night on TBS.
Paul has performed as a stand-up in clubs around the country, and has appeared on such shows as: Politically Incorrect, VH1's The List, HBO Comedy Showcase and MTV's Half-Hour Comedy Hour, and he has performed his stand-up live at the 1995 Montreal Comedy Festival and the 2000 Aspen Comedy Festival.
As a sketch actor, he has performed on "Not Necessarily the Elections" on HBO, and in the "Sketchapalooza" at the 1996 Aspen Comedy Festival. He has written for the Emmy Awards as well as Dennis Miller.
His poems, including "Tim the Die-Hard Packer Fan", have been getting national exposure on radio for close to a decade. He hosts a syndicated weekly radio show, and a popular website entitled, go figure, paulgilmartin.com.
When he is assured that cameras will be present, he likes to work with the less-fortunate.
