Lee's comedy career started at Catch A Rising Star in New York City when he was 16 years old. He wasn't a regular as a comic, but he was a regular as an audience member. Armed with fake I.D. and a corduroy sport coat to make him look older, Lee "went to school" watching the best comics in the country do their acts.
A mere 12 years later, Lee left his successful marketing position behind and began his stand-up career in Omaha, Nebraska. Soon after taking third place in the Jay Leno comedy contest, Lee became a national touring comedian with his clean, sophisticated, politely acerbic act. Also, as a regular comic with the USO, Lee has entertained our troops around the world. Although Lee is just getting by, he lives like a millionaire. How is this possible? Well, when you're the "Richest Poor Man in America", it's possible. Lee's act is an original, reality-based perspective of his fish-out-of-water lifestyle. The bizarre characters in his act come right out of his life. Roy, the Hot Air Balloon pilot, Myron Ablemansteinwiitz, Super Agent, Garrison, Art Broker and Stanford Tipton Smyte, Wine Dealer. For many, his life is an inspiration as well as an aspiration, with a little perspiration.
Over the past 14 years, Lee's success on the comedy club and college circuit enabled him to perform his act on many of the national cable and network television shows featuring stand-up comics. His performances caught the attention of some casting directors, who opened the door for his acting career. Lee has been cast in sitcoms, feature films and commercials. He also has a number of voice-over credits including looping for "Shaft", Isaac Hayes. Lee is one bad...shut your mouth.
Performing on television and acting in films are the hopeful progressions of any stand-up comic, but Lee's greatest "pinch me I'm dreaming" thrill came at Bally's Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. "...the cab drove up the strip and when we finally got to the hotel, I could see my name on the marquee right under Sinatra's." I thought to myself, "Wow, now I'm really in show business."
A native of Scarsdale, New York, Allan is now a resident of Manhattan Beach, California and can be seen performing at the local comedy clubs or on the sand playing volleyball. He was the first alternate on the 2001 U.S. Maccabiah team for beach volleyball.
